FOTOVERKSTEDET AT ISOTOP
Fotoverkstedet is a workshop for analogue photography run by 8 professional artists: Klara Sofie Ludvigsen, Synne Sofi Bønes, Andrea Urstad Toft, Ingrid Skåland Eriksen, Stephan Nahpets, Stian Servoss, Camilla Louadah Hermansen, and Lexy Liangzi Xiao. They have in common that they work professionally with photography, and that darkroom work is an integrated part of their artistic practice. Fotoverkstedet was established in 2017, and it's an organisation offering darkroom space for its members.

You will have a brief introduction tour in the darkroom on arrival.
You will get recommendations for the galleries and openings to visit in Bergen.
You will do a 3 day final exhibition (estimated date 22nd-24th Mar) at Isotop’s front project space with large windows by the street.
You will do a presentation on your finished work for Isotop members, darkroom members and the public during the exhibition.
You may do a workshop for the Isotop and darkroom members.

Fotoverkstedet has 8 members and a calendar booking system for the members working privately.
The darkroom is located in Isotop shared studios in centre Bergen, with one access through the project space directly from the street, and the other through a courtyard towards the same street. There is a small project space with large windows by the street and the possibility of opening up for visitors.
The Darkroom includes two rooms with a good ventilation system and three remotes for controlling the lights. The first room includes storage for dry materials, a large table for checking the prints, a cutter, a large light box, a blower for cleaning the negatives, and a fibre based paper flattening with a heat press.
The second room includes four enlargers, metal plate wall, two sinks, drying racks, drying cabinet for films, and storage for chemicals. Large format printing and colour printing can be done by the enlargers.
There is a shared kitchen with coffee machine, kettle and fridge in Isotop’s common space.

Film development tanks and reels for 135 and 120 mm, frames for 8x10 inch.
Drying cabinet for films and prints.
Drying racks for all kinds of prints up to 70cm x 90cm.
Printing equipments e.g. paper easels up to 60x70cm, focus finders, MG filters, etc.
Developing equipments e.g. paper trays up to 60x70cm and tubes 60cm in length, beakers, measuring cups, thongs etc.
A shared speaker for music.
*Artists prepare their own chemicals and materials for their projects; no shared chemicals in the darkroom. Certain chemicals and materials can be shopped at local stores.
