March 2024 – Björkö /Stockholm
Toivo Heinimäki
In March 2024, at my residence in Björkö in the Stockholm archipelago, I worked on silver gelatin prints that I later used as part of my exhibition Map of Fog II, which opened in June 2024 in Photo North Gallery, Oulu, Finland.
In the Björkö Konstnod darkroom, I used photographs and negatives I had taken myself, images from the archives of the City of Helsinki, as well as renderings and other illustrations from architectural and building agencies.
I continued to work in a collage-like manner after the prints were made, when I created the mixed-media passe-partout for the prints. The passe-partouts also include some text excerpts from submissions to the architecture competition organized by the City of Helsinki.
